This book uses a broad interdisciplinary approach to provide a new perspective for discussing important issues in China's modern history. In the specific research process, the methods of the history of science and technology and the history of the environment are integrated, and the perspective of historiography is integrated, in order to transcend the scope of traditional historical research. In this way, this book also attempts to provide new insights into the complex relationship between the constructive narratives necessary to establish "historical truth" and identity positioning at the "individual", "collective" or "professional" or "national" levels.
