In the book, the author portrays the image of a cruel, cold-blooded, selfish, and greedy "devil doctor" who is domineering, stubborn, but afraid of life and death. He lives in fear all day long, like a frightened bird, and has nightmares every night. He either builds a lookout, or sets up traps and fences around his residence, and raises a large number of guard dogs, which fully exposes his inner fear; at the same time, he is greedy for pleasure and even takes in his mistress in an inappropriate manner, which exposes his poor conduct and shameless face. The many such details make this already legendary story all the more fascinating.
