Reading Therapist

Reading Therapist

General Fiction

(france) Michael Huas

141K02

In general, people have forgotten how to behave in society and how to get along with others, and they have forgotten what life is like. We cannot call these diseases, or even psychological problems. "Mental sub-health" may be a more appropriate summary. The protagonist Alex is a young reading therapist who uses books as medicine and books to heal people. He provides reading therapy for these "patients". His prescription is not to prescribe medicine, but to prescribe books, which are determined according to the condition of the "patient". Salinger's "The Catcher in the Rye", Montaigne's "Essays", Homer's "Odyssey" and other books all appear in Alex's prescription. Compared with chemical drugs, Alex provides psychological and emotional counseling. Through reading, Alex has sincere and frank communication and dialogue with each "patient".
