Foucault Watching Movies

(france) Manilier Zabanyan

78K0

Foucault at the Cinema is the first attempt to provide an overview of Foucault's as-yet-unknown encounter with cinema. People can see from this that film can form a new concept of "event", film can explore a body stripped of its organic nature, and film can capture a history without victims or heroes. We are not really aware of these microscopic processes, but they determine profound changes in our understanding of ourselves. Only different kinds of thinking can lead to different kinds of viewing, and different kinds of viewing can lead to different kinds of thinking.
