Ms. Firebird, a terminal cancer patient in Ward 7, is waiting for her son to come see her. In order to keep her alive, "I" as an intern doctor began to tell her stories. "I" is like Scheherazade in "One Thousand and One Nights", using other people's stories to extend the patient's life. While guarding Ms. Firebird, "I" also recorded the unabashed truth of the people coming and going in the emergency department. I'm not sure stories can run faster than death on this track. After exhausting all medical skills, this was the only solution.
