Legendary Dutch sinologist Roberto Gauloper's only "The Case of Di Gong of the Tang Dynasty" written in Chinese is astonishing in his sinological attainments. A single volume of Di Gong's novel with rich traditional Chinese characteristics is released for the first time. The compiler, Zhang Ling, is a senior researcher on Gao Luopei, and his translation series of "The Case of Di Gong of the Tang Dynasty" has been widely praised. "The Strange Case of Dee Renjie" is the Chinese version of "The Labyrinth Case" self-translated by Gao Luopei, and it is also the only Chinese version written by him. Through comparison, it can be seen that although this book was translated from the English original manuscript of "The Labyrinth Case" and the main plot is roughly the same, it is significantly different from the English version in many details. It is a long chapter-length vernacular novel with strong traditional Chinese characteristics written by the author for the Chinese readers at that time. Just because the author is a foreigner, it can be called a rare and wonderful book. It has special value and significance for both ordinary readers and literary researchers.
