The plot of this novel is purely fictional and tells the history of a species of salamander accidentally discovered in the Indonesian archipelago. Capitalists use these human-looking, very agile animals as cheap labor to cultivate pearls and engage in underwater construction. Newt not only gradually mastered human technology, but also mastered fascist ideas. Later, he even used weapons obtained from humans to attack the mainland, demanding that the sea expand, flood the continent, and destroy mankind. Finally, through the author's fantasy of the unity of salamanders collapsing themselves and killing each other, hope for human recovery emerges.
