This book is a chronological record of the urban development of Shenzhen, panoramicly showing the historical process of Shenzhen from its original pioneering to its development into an international metropolis. The book takes the past as the prelude and the urban history of more than 40 years as the core. It also captures the major events or popular social words of the year and makes use of relevant historical materials to unfold a panoramic history of Shenzhen's development. The book is divided into nine chapters. The prologue begins with pre-history, starting with the ancient ancestors and the Xiantouling site, and then introduces the historical traces of Shenzhen from the Qin and Han Dynasties to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The core writing part is a historical review of Shenzhen after the reform and opening up in 1978, focusing on the rise and development of Shenzhen, emphasizing the overview, origin, and characteristics, and placing it in the long history and grand background of human development to trace the origins.
