Things in the Pool That year, I jumped into a bath of fire. I saw a group of fairies surrounding the barrier by the pool, either snickering or sarcastic, or confused or indifferent. I thought maybe one or two kind-hearted fairies would call my name before I died. Even if it wasn't heartbreaking, it would at least let me know that my short time of hundreds of thousands of years was not in vain.
