I am very interested in the setting for professional reasons, and the author has indeed revealed the fragmentation and ups and downs of the society of that era and people themselves, which makes people have mixed feelings.
I watched it after The Little Project of Life. It's not as good as the original book, but it's okay. Some of the historical background settings are quite interesting.
