By chance, I read some articles that I thought were unpopular (jj Liang Shao). I haven't read most of the original works, but I only have a general understanding of the characters (maybe OOC).
Before watching it, I had the impression that Da Vinci was an old man in an art book, and the heroine had no idea about it. After watching it, I accidentally saw a video of Hedy Lamarr (so beautiful, with the addition of wisdom, he is even more beautiful, sparkling), and Da Vinci is also much younger. The two of them really match each other well.
Both the male and female protagonists are original, and it's an outsider's perspective that I like. The female protagonist is normal in all aspects, while the male protagonist Bai Qiehei (who has not done anything illegal or crazy) is possessive of the female protagonist.
I have never watched the TV series and don't know Yuan Runyu's character at all. None of the people involved in the love triangle in the original TV series were harmed in it.
