Regarding spiritual growth and Harry, it also perfectly integrates Huo Yi and the original work, rather than a flat "Fourth Natural Disaster". One thing that moved me while watching it was that Harry, Albus, Sirius, Hermione, Ron, Snape, Malfoy, and Greengrass were all described correctly. They are not stereotyped good/bad images like the movie version and some fan fiction. All their behaviors and thoughts are derived from their characters and are born out of the context of the time. This fan fiction also narrates them well from the reader's perspective. I don't think this is a simple whitewash, but a rational and comprehensive analysis of the characters.
