Lin Mu, a high school student, always works hard on math problems, but always fails in Chinese dictation and recitation. Until the transfer student Ruan Nian becomes his deskmate, the ordinary campus life takes on a new color. In the Chinese class, Ruan Nian handed Lin Mu a sharp pencil to relieve Lin Mu's urgent need to stop writing, helped him find missing words in silent writing, and also softly explained the segmentation skills of "Red Cliff Fu"; on the way to school, the two walked side by side, the setting sun lengthened their figures, and Lin Mu warmly invited Ruan Nian to watch fireflies on the weekend. It's just Ruan Nian's occasionally evasive eyes and the complicated expression on his face when he refuses the endorsement of his peers, that hide unknown secrets. As mutual help in class turned into an after-school appointment, and the obscure ancient texts were mixed with the thoughts of teenagers, Lin Mu gradually became concerned about this quiet classmate, a story about companionship, growth and secrets.
Purpose: Using the campus story of high school students Lin Mu and Ruan Nian as a carrier, it explores how the pure friendship in youth can break through personal difficulties (Lin Mu's language learning barriers and the psychological shackles caused by Ruan Nian's hidden secrets), and achieve growth in mutual companionship. It shows the power of sincerity and bonding to transcend individual limitations and fight against the confusion of growth, and interprets the healing core of youth that is complete because of each other.
