Beside the Naihe Bridge, there is an unknown pawnshop hidden deep in the thick fog. The shopkeeper Jiang Nian is guarding an old wooden table, specializing in collecting the obsessive objects of the dead - broken swords, hairpins, broken string harp... Everything has an unfinished past locked in it.
The souls who come to pledge things may want to see each other again, make amends for their mistakes, or make up for their regrets. Jiang Nian does not comment on right or wrong. He only glimpses their love, hate, anger and obsession in life at the moment of touching the object, and then uses the "object" as a guide to give his obsession a place to rest and allow his soul to cross the river of forgetfulness.
There are no rules of equal exchange here, only the concerns deep in the heart that are most unwilling to let go. And Jiang Nian is the ferryman who listens to stories and bids farewell. He sees the obsessions of thousands of souls and also guards his own unspoken secrets.
