In the "Suture Era" where human civilization coexists with alien debris, two special professions form the dark side of the world - "Severs" can use flesh and blood as threads to sew the bio-metal debris of crashed starships and reshape their shapes; "Tracekeepers" can read the remaining civilization memories in the debris, but they will be backlashed by the memory and gradually become part of the star debris. The two protagonists are rivals at the top of the industry, but due to an interstellar conspiracy spanning three thousand years, they are forced to become each other's only "antidote."
