On the top of the cliff in France, the "Rose Manor" swallowed by Gregorian roses welcomes two special guests: Margaret Campbell, the former killer who only kills evil people, but is as shy as a cat about tenderness; accompanying her is the writer Dorothea Miller, who was saved by her as a child and has now become an active guardian of emotions.
On a night when roses were in full bloom, the body of the thorny hostess Irene (codenamed "Mrs. Hull") was found in an ice cellar-like bedroom, with a sunken head and strange blood stains. The thorns of suspicion entangle all living beings in the manor:
- The silent steward couple kept the fatal secret of their illegitimate child falling off a cliff;
- A crazy chemist, burning with the fire of revenge for being destroyed by his lover;
- A diligent reporter who hides the removal order of "Fenrir's Fang" under his suit;
- The actress's resentment and the maid's abnormal love grow in the dark...
Sir Grant, the master of criminology, intervenes like a gentleman and appoints Dorothea as his assistant; and the subtle look in the detective Harold's eyes hints at a dangerous past intersection with Margaret. When the second body appears in the secret room, Margaret is forced to walk on the edge of danger: while hunting down the most venomous snake with killer instinct, she also protects her lover in Jazz's reasoning game.
An Agatha-like maze of group portraits unfolds here - behind every rose petal, there is a sharp thorn tempered by lies; and the only glimmer of redemption is the hands clasped in blood. When the real murderer is revealed, everyone alive will be stripped of their elegant disguise, revealing the most primitive mud and struggle under the rose roots.
