"Snow in the Workplace, Designing Heart" tells the story of Lin Xia's "putting stars into design, keeping the heart and breaking through the snow".
Lin Xia's design drafts always have stars falling on them - they are not random decorations. They are her obsession since she was in the library at university: to blend the romance of star trails, constellations, and ancient astronomy into the essence of modern design.
When I first graduated and entered the workplace, this obsession was like an "untimely snow". Party A frowned and said, "The star map is too obscure, and you need to be an eye-catching Internet celebrity." Her colleagues advised her, "It's difficult to get started in a niche, it's important to make quick money first." Even colleagues who secretly imitated her creativity laughed: "Who will pay for a few stars?"
But she always remembered her heartbeat when she first read "Historical Records: Tianguan Shu" - the book said, "The sky has constellations, and the earth has states." The ancients divided the starry sky into twenty-eight constellations, as if they had drawn a gentle map of the universe. She thought, by drawing star trails against the design, wasn't she also adding a "map" with hidden starlight to modern life?
Later, she took on a small project in an old neighborhood: visually upgrading a used bookstore. She did not choose the Internet celebrity model, but simplified the "Canglong in the East Palace" and "White Tiger in the West Palace" astrology mentioned in the "Book of Heavenly Officials" into the outline of the window sticker; she traced the trajectory of the "Big Dipper" on the bookmark, and printed the short sentence "The battle is the emperor's chariot, transported to the center" next to it.
The snow fell lightly on the opening day. Some old readers pointed to the star map on the window and said, "This is what the older generation calls 'stars.'" A young man took a photo with a bookmark: "It turns out that the design can make the starry sky in the ancient book so close."
The "workplace snow" didn't stop, but the starlight on Lin Xia's design draft began to be seen by more people. Only then did she understand: the so-called original intention is not to make the whole world fall in love with the starry sky, but that even if only a few people understand it, they must draw out the light in their hearts borrowed from "The Book of Heavenly Officials".
Purpose: Taking "ancient astronomical elements into modern design" as an incision, writing about the persistence of niche love in the test of reality - not only Lin Xia's persistence in "astrology design", but also how every ordinary person can hold on to the "glow" in his heart amidst the "snow"-like questioning and compromise in the workplace, and ultimately the arc of growth that allows his unique love to be seen and accepted.
At the same time, through the collision of the ancient meaning of "Historical Records: Tianguan Shu" and modern design, there is also a layer of "dialogue between tradition and the present": the romance of the starry sky in the eyes of our ancestors may not only be sealed in ancient books, but can be reinterpreted and become a touchable temperature in modern people's lives.
