In the darkness before the movie started, he whispered that he liked her. Before she could answer, the screen lit up.
In the flow of light and shadow, she stared at the out-of-focus screen, and he looked at her blurred profile.
In the slanting twilight, she asked, "If we graduate, we will break up--"
As he nodded, the street lights came on.
