An original short story adapted from a family story, reflecting the real life of grassroots working-class families under the tide of the times from the 1980s to around the turn of the millennium. The prototype of Hu Xuewen is my grandfather, who was born on December 26, 1941 and passed away on May 22, 2024. My grandfather has been a hard-working grassroots car repairman all his life, a level eight fitter (the highest level of fitter in the country at that time). In 1982, my grandma died suddenly of tuberculosis. Since then, my grandpa has raised three children (my mother and two uncles) by himself, brought them from the countryside to the city, settled down, and never remarried. This article is written in memory of my grandpa. It has 5 chapters in total. Thank you readers for your support~
