In the dust of the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, 12-year-old Mingjian met another "self" in the ruins - a mysterious man with the exact same appearance and name as him. The other party left behind an unfinished novel, and there was another life hidden in the title page: "Mingmi" was born in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan in 1988. She lost her mother at the age of three and her father at the age of twelve. After returning to China, she was trapped in the folds of fate.
From then on, "searching" became Mingjian's obsession. He continued to write the novel, met the bright Lin Xi and the hearty Yao Yao in high school in western Guangdong, and grew up slowly in the intertwining of youthful love and friendship. In college, he unexpectedly became popular because of his relationship with the "famous novelist Ming Jian," but he firmly declared on the novel's podium: "I want to live my life." After graduation, he and Lin Xi stayed across the city, but lost his true love on the eve of their promised wedding.
The redemption in the ruins, the bond of the same name across time and space, the tenderness and miss in three periods of youth, the self reassembled in the loss... When the life trajectories of the two "clear views" repeatedly overlap, what is finally written is the answer to growth, farewell and reconciliation.
This is not only the story of a young man looking for another self, but also the journey of how each of us becomes "self" in our destiny.
Intent: Two souls with the same name and appearance explore the true meaning of "becoming oneself" in the encounter and intersection across time and space - growth is never about copying the trajectory of others, but in fetters, loss and reconciliation, ultimately finding the answer to your own life.
