When Nao first saw Tongmo, he was sitting in the snow, his white oak hair covered with snowflakes, like a fragile ice sculpture. He said: "Human tears are sweet."
Later she found out that the man who said with a smile that he wanted to "save all living beings" was an evil ghost who was afraid of even the sun, and was the second string that made human beings frightened by the news. The ice on his fingertips can freeze life, and the colorful colors in his eyes are never warm at all. For hundreds of years, he has been used to seeing betrayal and death, and has long regarded the human heart as a boring show.
But he picked her up anyway.
Give her a folding fan decorated with bells, which hides the coercion that can scare away similar people; accompany her to watch fireworks shows, and help her avoid crowds; even when she loses her temper, she lets her nails dig into her back, and just smiles and says: "Little Nao is getting more and more fierce."
Nao knew that he didn't understand what love was. His gentleness is careless indulgence, and his approach is a "fun" pastime. But she couldn't help but get closer, like a moth flying towards the seemingly warm ice field - she wanted to warm his cold fingertips, she wanted him to see that there was something else besides teasing in her eyes, she wanted to tell him what it felt like to be cared about.
Evil ghosts and humans are on different paths.
But when Tong Mo's ice sculpture carved her appearance for the first time, when he pushed her away and then awkwardly chased her back, and when he pressed her hand on his cold chest in the snowy sky, Nao suddenly understood: some salvation is never a vigorous rescue, but someone is willing to stay on the ice field and wait with him for a spring that will never come.
"Tong Mo, look, my heart is beating for you."
"Oh? That's really... Interesting."
He was still smiling, but the colorful colors in his eyes quietly reflected her shadow.
