Synopsis
An antique mirror covered with mildew stains reflects not the face, but the abyss. Shen Yu, a graphic designer suffering from insomnia and nightmares, thought that the Republic of China dressing mirror he bought was the beginning of his destiny, but he did not know that it was the key to the door to hell. The strange eyes, the cold writing that appeared on the mirror, and the inhuman existence wearing a blue-gray gown, peering at him from the water marks - the mirror ghost, were feeding on his fear, dragging him towards the fate of drowning. The curse words quietly appearing on the bones and the rotten smell of the river bottom filling the air all announced that he had become the sacrifice chosen by the evil spirit in the mirror. Lu Zhao, a gentle folklorist, is also the last successor of the Lu family, the ancient mirror-keepers. There is an inhuman gray shadow hidden behind the gold-rimmed glasses, and a faded red rope that symbolizes bondage and symbiosis is wrapped around his wrist. He bears the bloody curse of his family, and every generation of Mirror Keepers ends up drowning. He found Shen Yu and claimed that he wanted to protect him from the mirror ghost. However, as he approached, Shen Yu saw countless eyeballs rotating in the crack on the back of his neck from the reflection of the car window. Under Lu Zhao's gentle voice, there was hidden the dark smile of the mirror ghost. He is a protector and a parasite; he is the hope of salvation and the deepest fear. When the clock strikes 1:13 midnight, the mirror countdown reaches zero, and the boundary between reality and the mirror world completely collapses. Shen Yu discovered that the mirror connected not only the world of the dead, but also a mirror prison that used the fear of the living as lamp oil and sacrifices as food. As for Lu Zhao, who claimed to save him, his body was the perfect container for the Mirror Ghost. Every gentle touch from Lu Zhao could bring a biting coldness; every gaze behind his lenses could cause the distortion of space. This twisted dependence and emotion that grows in a desperate situation is itself a poison carefully cultivated by the Mirror Ghost - the deepest terror comes from the hands you are trying to grab, which are gently squeezing your throat. This is a desperate dance on the edge of drowning. Shen Yu must stay awake and find a way out amid the erosion of the mirror ghost and the fatal attraction of Lu Zhao (the mirror ghost inside the body). Lu Zhao, on the other hand, struggled painfully between his instinct to protect and the greed of the evil spirit inside him. They are tightly connected by the soul-binding red rope. To hurt each other is to hurt themselves, but separation means falling into the abyss faster. The cold and damp mirror reflects two faces, three souls, and a fatal bond that twists and grows in dampness, decay, and deep-seated fear. Is he a scholar who loves you, or an evil ghost who wants to eat you? When the embrace that protects you is the cage that imprisons you, how should you choose? Concept: On the verge of drowning, fear is the deepest bond and love is the most deadly illusion. When the mirror reflects the abyss, what the soul-binding red rope locks is the fate of sinking, or is it the glimmer of light that pierces illusion and coexists in despair?
