The theme is mainly based on the strange beasts in "The Classic of Mountains and Seas". The main characters are the sons of the Qinglong family among the four major families: Lu Yunzheng, Zi Yi'an, and the son of the Fu Zhu family: Luo Ning, Zi Linxi. After graduating from school, the story of hunting the Soul Reaper together has some combinations of ancient and modern times.
