Synopsis
Under the never-ending rain in Tokyo, Daisuke Niwa, a taciturn police officer from Senkawa Police Station, followed a strange urban legend and entered a fateful entanglement that was destined to be inescapable. Legend has it that in the middle of the night when there is a heavy rainstorm, a soaked "Rain Girl" dressed in white will appear under the streetlight next to an abandoned phone booth. She was quiet and gloomy, staring at every passer-by with her deep pool-like eyes. Anyone who comes close to her will eventually be dragged into the eternal rain curtain and disappear without a trace. When Niwa actually encountered the pale figure under the streetlight while on duty, his professional vigilance and rational judgment made him choose to ignore the horrified warning of his colleague Tajima, and brought the seemingly fragile and helpless woman back to the police station to take shelter from the rain. However, this seemingly ordinary rescue opened the curtain to another world. The existence of Rain Girl is like the continuous rain in this city, cold, mysterious and everywhere. She would stare quietly at the alleyway late at night, ask for an umbrella with her, reveal a girlish shyness and dependence, and clumsily try to create the warmth of "home" in a dilapidated old house. Her body exudes an ancient cold air like deep water moss, her eyes are bottomless, and her appearance is always accompanied by indescribable weirdness and uneasiness. Niyu was involved in this inhuman puzzle. He tried to use the rationality of a detective to dissect the mystery, investigate her origins, and explore the secret behind the closed inner door. However, every time he came closer, he fell deeper into those deep pool-like eyes. Is her vulnerability and dependence real? Are her tenderness and shyness a disguise? Is that silent snuggle a cold request or a desperate cry for help? At the same time, the pressure of reality hits like another rainstorm. The responsibilities of the police station, the suspicion of his colleagues, and an engagement from a senior police officer with strong practical considerations all forced Niyu to make a choice. He struggles between duty, reason, unspeakable ties, and the weight of reality. When Niwa finally put on the ring symbolizing promise in the secular sunshine, the "home" on that rainy night was empty, leaving only an oil-paper umbrella as red as blood, like a silent period and an eternal curse. The rain in Tokyo is still continuous. Is that white figure holding a red umbrella still walking in an eternal rainy night in some unknown corner? And Niwa Daisuke, the detective who once tried to dissect Kaitan, will be trapped in this endless rain for the rest of his life. The old scar on his abdomen has become a cold and painful mark connecting the two worlds. This is a story about the intertwining of urban legends and reality, the tearing of reason and emotion, and the paradox of coldness and warmth. Under the never-drying rain in Tokyo, a heartbreaking dance of fate begins between the detective Daisuke Niwa and the mysterious rain girl, with no winner. Intention: destiny
