Sick male protagonist × pure loving female protagonist
"After the college entrance examination, I will definitely marry you."
"Liar."
The chirping of cicadas in midsummer made the air swell, and the laughter of freshmen dragging their suitcases hit the camphor tree and shattered into spots of light all over the ground—but none of these could cover the two shadows on the rooftop.
The pen on Mu Xingchen's fingertips spun quickly, but a thin layer of sweat quietly broke out on his forehead. He is what the teacher calls "someone else's kid", always number one on the red list, and there are always people in the corridor handing over love letters with a blushing face. But only he knew how many moments he was soaked in cold sweat hidden under the cuffs of his school uniform. When he was curled up in bed with stomach cramps at night, the mints Su Yujuan stuffed him during class became the only light he could hold on to.
"What are you thinking about again?" Su Yujuan put the ice-cold soda on the back of his neck and laughed when he suddenly shrank his neck. Her Chinese language notebooks were always written like copybooks, and her compositions were always read aloud as model essays. But every time she read sentences like "A Teenager's Thoughts," her eyes would always cross the podium and fall lightly on him.
Someone stuffed a love letter into Mu Xingchen's table while she was getting water. He threw it into the trash can without even looking at it. When he turned around, he saw Su Yujuan leaning on the door frame and smiling: "Why don't you take a second look? Maybe there is someone prettier than me."
"No." He said quickly, but the tips of his ears turned red, "No one is as good-looking as you."
The cicadas were still shouting at the top of their lungs, and the sunlight burned their shadows on the wall, like inseparable seals.
"Muxing, do you really love me?" She suddenly raised her face and asked, with tiny glimmers of light on her eyelashes.
He squeezed her hand tightly and brushed the silver bracelet on her wrist with his fingertips: "I love you." The boy's voice was clearer than the chirping of cicadas, "Just like my name - Xingchen, it was originally meant for you."
No one knows how many secrets he hides. Hide the dizziness that suddenly hits you every time you bend down to pick up a pen, hide the pain that can only be endured by biting the pillow late at night, and even hide your increasingly pale face in the mirror. He always felt that he could hide it until the college entrance examination was over, hide it until he held her hand and walked out of the examination room, and hide it until he could fulfill his promise of "proposing marriage".
Intention: Written for the one I love
