Synopsis
Ten years ago, Jiang Yanzhi and Lin Song were golden partners in the university laboratory - one was rational and calm like a stable reaction center, the other was sensitive and crazy like uncontrolled free radicals. The two approached each other and saved each other in the world of chemistry, and also said goodbye silently at the fork in the road when they graduated from Ph. D. Jiang Yanzhi went overseas for further studies and became an internationally renowned young scholar; Lin Song stayed at home, wandering on the fringes of scientific research while trying to forget that unnameable feeling. Ten years later, they unexpectedly reunited at an international chemistry summit. The gentle and indifferent greetings could not conceal the torrent and undercurrent deep in each other's eyes. Jiang Yanzhi thought he was rational enough, but when he saw Lin Song again, his heart trembled as if he was doing an experiment for the first time. Lin Song had already learned how to hide desire and pain under the formula, but he lost control again when Jiang Yanzhi appeared. Is it the reaction that has terminated long ago that still has unquenched heat? Or has fate already set them apart and they will eventually bond again? At the most important turning point in each other's lives, they chose to be side by side again. Behind the glass door of the laboratory, in front of the midnight data, in the silent breathing, the two souls came closer again. This is a story about pull, redemption, desire and reconstruction. Chemistry is their language, and love is their ultimate stable product. Intention: Delayed reaction and recombination of emotions: Even if people are separated by time and space, the truly profound emotions and connections will not be completely interrupted, just like the potential affinity between reactants, which will eventually find a path to union. Spiritual redemption and two-way healing: Can a rational and powerful character truly save a mentally broken person? And can mentally fragile people use emotions to awaken the softness of reason? This work explores the proposition of "who is saving whom" from the perspective of two-way redemption. Intellectual community and erotic tension coexist: the novel shows the tension of intimate relationships in the context of scientific research, and reflects how love and career are intertwined, pulled, and finally integrated.
