In the city of Shanghai, several groups of people with unique relationships form an unconventional "family".
The core of the story focuses on lawyer Li Youran (25 years old) and her guide, former teacher and current editor Lu Qinglan (43 years old). The reunion in Otaru awakens old feelings, and time forges a deep bond between them. Li Youran protects Lu Qinglan with a strong stance and clears away the haze of her past (such as her ex-husband Zhou Mingyuan) at all costs (including legal means). This protective desire is almost paranoid and makes her exhausted. Lu Qinglan accepted Li Youran's fierceness with gentleness and tolerance. The shared piano piece "Liebestraum" is a testimony to their emotions. This is a connection that redeems each other in pain and finds balance in protection.
Their residence is like a "family commune". The residents include: Lu Qinglan's best friend Lin Zizhu (language editor) and her doctor partner Qianxia Yingzi; Li Youran's sister Li Zhaoran (who runs a club) and her close partner nurse Su Rui. Li Zhaoran often fights easily with Lin Zizhu; and Li Nianlan, a girl from parallel time and space, gradually integrates, has a crush on policewoman Meng Yunshu and has a subtle connection with Cheng Yu.
Neighbors Zhou Bi (lawyer) and his partner Xu Yan add laughter to the family. The story also touches on the complex family backgrounds of the protagonists.
This is a warm story about an urban unconventional "family". A group of people who carry the past meet by chance and use love, tolerance and protection to resist the wind and rain together. They healed their scars in each other's company and redemption, accepted imperfections, and finally found belonging and warmth, redefining "home."
Concept: Under the hustle and bustle of the bustling city and the shadows of their own pasts, a group of people with scarred souls meet and stay together. The story profoundly depicts the possibility of healing scars - the young lawyer becomes the guide's armor with almost paranoid protection, while the vicissitudes of tenderness embraces this fierceness, completing two-way redemption in the deep bond between each other. It explores how love is not only a sweet burden, but also a healing light that illuminates each other's darkness and heals old pain. Through this non-traditional "family" unit, the work ultimately conveys: the true sense of belonging comes from being seen, accepted, and finding the courage to face pain in the arms of the other person, moving towards warmth and reconciliation together.
