"Inverse Novel" tells the story of Takeshiro Arata, a young boy who was once a piano genius. After his hands were damaged and his dreams were shattered due to a conspiracy, he accidentally obtained a sheet of music called "Inverse Noble" ("Dedicated to You Hanging Upside Down") from a mysterious black book. The warning and strange atmosphere on the back of the score "Never play it" aroused his strong curiosity.
As he learned more about the score, he discovered that it might be a piece of music that was said to bring a curse, and that two Japanese musicians suffered misfortune because of playing it. But Wu Daixin did not back down. While playing in the self-service concert hall, time stood still and he met Zhang Huqi, a classmate who was hanging upside down - a girl who was desperate because she failed the college entrance examination.
In order to keep Zhang Huqi, Wu Daixin endured the fear of the curse and physical exhaustion and played again and again. In the process, the two gradually understood each other from strangers, sharing each other's pain and despair. In the end, under the power of music, they seemed to break the shadow of the curse and find spiritual salvation and peace, and music also showed its true meaning as a bridge between souls and redemption.
