Introduction to the work "Inkstone Ci"
When Yan Yu, a rigorous and restrained architectural designer, meets Ci Zhao, a free-spirited illustrator, life is like a piece of rice paper stained by ink - the original sharp lines gradually reveal gentle arcs.
This is a story about the collision of "maturity" and "cuteness". Yanyu was used to planning his life with a schedule, and always had a pen in his suit pocket, until one day his rhythm was disrupted by Ci Zhao who suddenly broke into his life: this person would curl up on the sofa with a drawing board and fall asleep late at night, poke a milk tea straw into his black coffee, and hold up the Q-shaped figure he had just drawn and say "This is us." And Cizhao never expected that the man who looked as cold as an iceberg would put aside important meetings when he was sick, would remember his little quirk of not eating coriander, and would sigh helplessly while silently cleaning up the mess after he got into trouble.
From the accidental collision in the cafe when they first met, to Ci Zhao being so nervous that he wrinkled his shirt when meeting his parents, and Yan Yu calmly making the rescue, to the daily tug-of-war about whether toothpaste should be squeezed from the middle or the tail after living together... Their story does not have earth-shattering twists and turns, but is hidden in every moment. Each of these smoky details is: Ci Zhao secretly heated the milk when Yan Yu was working overtime late at night; when Ci Zhao was being made difficult by a client, Yan Yu sent him the words "I'll handle it"; it was the "lesson" that was filled with anger after being drunk, and the fear and heartache that could not be hidden.
"Yan" refers to Yan Yu's composure, the tenderness engraved in his bones; "Ci" refers to Ci Zhao's brightness, the freshness written in life. When the inkstone meets pen and ink, when restraint meets passion, they find a fitting arc in each other's edges and corners, turning their lives into an endless picture album - the blushing faces when arguing, the snickering when giving in, the body heat when embracing each other late at night, and the secret love words hidden "by the inkstone" that belong only to the two of them.
This is not a vigorous rush, but a process of two souls slowly getting closer. Just like the square inkstone that Yanyu gave to Cizhao, it looked like a cold and hard stone at first, but after being polished for a long time, it developed an indescribable warmth.
