International pianist Shen Yu meets little-known painter Lin Xu at a charity dinner. A piece of "Broken Light" brings together people from two worlds - Shen Yu lives in a perfect cage under the spotlight, while Lin Xu is trapped in the dark abyss of self-doubt.
From resistance to attraction, from misunderstanding to closeness, art becomes their only common language. However, when Shen Yu's family intervened, the shadows of Lin Xu's past surfaced, and the two gradually lost control under the attack of public opinion and inner demons. After a fierce quarrel, Lin Xu collapsed completely, but Shen Yu realized outside the ward that some people, like his piano music, must be broken before they can be reborn.
