"Chang'an Mysterious Cases" is set in Chang'an during the prosperous Tang Dynasty. It tells the story of two male protagonists with very different personalities who join forces to solve a series of bizarre murders.
The young minister of Dali Temple is warm-hearted, as his name suggests, but cold-tempered, taciturn, but thoughtful as a web. He has an amazing insight into clues. He seems to be unhuman, but in fact he has an extreme control over the details of the case. The guard Li Yan is enthusiastic and chatty, often reckless and impulsive. He seems to have no brains, but he has good martial arts and can always break the situation with force at critical moments.
From the initial run-in, the two became tacit partners, and together faced the spate of mysterious cases in Chang'an City - from the blood-stained jade plaques in the Yi Zhuang, to the costumes with human bones hidden on the stage, to the strange oil lamps lit with corpse oil... Each case was eerie and strange, with an unknown conspiracy hidden behind it.
On the way, Li Yan was injured and lost his memory while protecting Wen Xin. When he woke up, he was a complete stranger to his partner who had fought alongside him, and only his instinctive trust remained. Warmth is still silent, but it is guarded silently when no one is around, hiding all emotions. Until the two joined hands again because of an old and far-reaching case.
