On the ruins of fate, she repaired her life with gold foil.
Wan Zhiqiu is an artifact restorer with the typical temperament and sharp edges of Yi Shu's urban girls, but her life is far more fragile than the ancient porcelain in her hands. She wears a white shirt, khaki pants, and a men's watch. She has a cold and aloof taste, guarding her "Qichi" small building and inner order in the gap between capital and emotion.
A sudden rain at night washed away three dilemmas in her life:
1. Capital hunting: Zhou Chengyu, the heir to a wealthy family, is pressing harder and harder. In the name of acquisition, he carries out emotional manipulation and capital plunder, pushing her cherished "Qichi" into a countdown to demolition.
2. The burden of family affection: Fang Zifeng, an adopted son who suffers from severe asthma and was abandoned by his father, is a responsibility that she cannot let go of and is also the softest weakness in her heart. The child's struggle on the hospital bed tore at her rationality and emotions.
3. Betrayal of friendship: Lin Wei, her former best friend, caused a storm in the workplace and private sphere, spreading rumors and causing trouble, pushing her deeper into isolation.
The climax of the story breaks out in the ruins on a rainy night. Wan Zhifeng knelt in the wreckage of "Qichi", holding tightly the blue and white porcelain piece she had repaired but now broken in one hand. The winding golden thread on it was a testimony of her skill and belief; with the other hand she was twisting the cold crayon tip left by Fang Zifeng, which was a responsibility and bondage that she could not escape. The cold porcelain pieces and crayons, like her broken past and heavy future, intertwined and collided in the palm of her hand.
The declaration of "Gold Foil Life" was thus created. She made a shocking decision: with bare feet, she stepped on the black card and business card that symbolized the temptation of capital, and in full view of the public, she picked up the frail and frightened Fang Zifeng from the cold hospital bed, as if she was holding up the most precious and fragile ancient object, and resolutely walked out of the hospital towards the unknown.
"One Night Wife and One Night Rain" depicts the struggle and breakthrough of contemporary independent women in the whirlpool of capital, emotion and responsibility with Yi Shu's brushwork as cold as a knife blade. It is not only a story about love, friendship, and family affection, but also a fable about "repair" - how to pick up the broken self in the ruins of life, use tenacity and wisdom to turn scars into golden threads, repair objects, and mend destiny. The choice of Wan Qiu Wife is a clarion call to declare war on the cold rules and a declaration of "gold leaf life" written by her actions: Even if it is broken, it can still shine; even if it is heavy, it must go out of its own way.
