A relatively isolated southwest rural village with a long history, it retains a large number of ancient, complex and even taboo folk beliefs, witchcraft rituals and a unique cognitive system about the "underworld". The "ghosts" here are not simply evil spirits, but more of spiritual bodies that follow some ancient "yin law" and are stranded due to obsession or "contract". They are inextricably linked to the world of the living.
Modern rational thinking collides with deep-rooted folk concepts of ghosts and gods; personal destiny is bound by ancient "yin contracts"; the terrifying secrets hidden under the peaceful countryside and the struggle of human nature.
