Synopsis
At the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, the Mongolian cavalry went south. Outside Lin'an City, five young men became sworn brothers in a century-old pear garden and made a vow to live up to the pear cloud. The forbearing and restrained fallen prince Lu YuanⅹThe romantic and uninhibited prodigal Tang Xiao Su Wanqing, a cold doctor who disguises herself as a man, Ruan Jizhen, a sincere and innocent piano player, and Ye Luzhao, a mixed-race bodyguard with embarrassing blood, are all involved in the world, robbing the rich, helping the poor, and fighting against corrupt officials, but they don't know that their fate is already waiting in the dark. When the Mongolian iron hoof trampled the mountains and rivers, the five people were swept away by the torrent of the times. Tang Xiao was pierced by thousands of arrows to protect Lu Yuan. Lu Yuan was forced to sign a surrender letter on behalf of the Southern Song Dynasty and then burned himself. Su Wanqing became the enemy's concubine to protect the wounded soldiers and finally committed suicide. Ruan Jizhen died with the enemy after playing the final song. Yelu Zhao proved his loyalty and was quartered. Ten years later, in the deserted pear orchard, no one can remember that spring day when pear blossoms were blooming. The teenagers once drank and sang, thinking they could change the world. Concept: "Li Yun Mengyuan" is set in the late Southern Song Dynasty. Through the tragic fate of five young people from sworn friendship to separation, it deeply explores the eternal propositions between ideals and reality, individuals and the times. The work uses "pear clouds" as an image, symbolizing the beautiful but perishable youthful spirit and ideals of family and country. In the historical torrent of the Mongolian cavalry going south, the five protagonists stick to their faith in different ways, but in the end they all cannot escape the tragic ending. The core purpose of this work is to show the spiritual dilemma of idealists in troubled times: when personal ideals encounter great changes of the times, when young people's ambitions collide with the interests of family and country, the brilliance and limitations of human nature will be revealed in the choices of destiny. The five protagonists each represent different value orientations and ways of survival. Their tragedies are not only personal, but also a microcosm of an era. Through the contrast of "deep friendship and shallow friendship", the work reveals that the most precious friendship between people is often difficult to defeat the cruelty of reality, and the persistence of those who know that nothing can be done but do it exactly constitutes the most moving light of human nature. The four words "Li Yun Mengyuan" are not only the memory of the lost beauty, but also the regret that the ideal cannot be realized. The ultimate goal of the work is to acknowledge the cruelty of reality while still maintaining respect for the pure idealistic spirit in human nature. Just as withered pear blossoms will eventually turn into spring mud, the sacrifice and persistence of the young people will also leave an indelible mark in the long river of history.
