I am Ling Yue.
When I drove across half of China, I never thought I would stumble in the Dingtao rain.
The day the car got stuck in the mud in the back alley of the mutton soup restaurant, I saw a young man who was killing fish. The arc of his wrist flip is very special, like the black pottery dancing figurines I saw at the auction house come to life - except that the training pants of this "figurine" are stained with fish scales, and the tiger's mouth still has scars from being whipped by the fish's tail.
I suddenly wanted to see what kind of flowers he could come up with.
I thought money could settle everything, but he threw the bank card I handed over into the mutton soup pot, and the scars from the hot oil splashes fell on the back of his hands, connecting them with the old wounds from the tiger's mouth.
"Master Ling," he smiled, showing some white teeth, "do you know that the ribs that were broken by the rolling pin will be broken even more by a card?"
Later, I always thought of that night, the way he stepped on the clay and practiced spinning, like a fire about to burn through fate.
But this ball of fire wants to trap him in a small place, just because there is a bird outside the cage that only needs his protection.
The sea breeze cannot blow away the fireworks of Dingtao, just like I cannot take away this "dancing figurine" that has been beaten repeatedly by life, unless I am willing to accompany him, squatting in the mud and slowly peeling away the cracks that can be seen in the bones.
"Want to go see the sea?" Ling Yue's voice mixed with the sound of rain, "I heard that the waves there are more crazy than yours."
