"The Shackles on the Answer Card" tells the story of the unknown oppression and struggle behind a seemingly glamorous educational model family. As the vice principal of a key high school, Cui Mingyuan is well versed in the rules of the game of exam-oriented education, and has raised his daughter Cui Xiaozhou to be an "other people's child" with excellent academic performance; his wife Lin Jing, the chief physician of a hospital, is in a dilemma under her husband's strong educational philosophy; and Cui Xiaozhou himself is struggling painfully between the life path planned by his father and his inner artistic dream.
When Cui Xiaozhou won the provincial mathematics competition, the family seemed to reach the pinnacle of educational success. However, a seemingly ordinary monthly exam became the trigger. Cui Xiaozhou deliberately failed the math test and openly challenged his father's authority.
