Intent: When it comes to youth themes, the first thing you may think of is bright sunshine, exquisite makeup, elegant school uniforms, or the joy, relaxation, and comedy in Japanese light novels. These contents cannot be said to be unreal, but they just lack some sense of substitution.
It's another graduation season, and I recently read "Children in the County" by Lin Xiaoying. The data listed in the book are very detailed. In 2020, the total number of students in county middle schools accounted for 59%. At the beginning of the century, this proportion will only be higher. Among these students, only 15% passed the exam and entered the mainstream narrative field, and were called small-town question writers.
There is a slight derogatory tone to those who succeed in doing the questions, but there are more people who fail to succeed.
