Introduction
At the end of the 20th century, "mutants" with special abilities appeared sporadically around the world. The fear and prejudice caused by their out-of-control abilities gradually evolved into systemic oppression. The registration system, quarantine zones, and legal discrimination are like shackles, pushing the 3% of people with special abilities to the margins of society. The violent acts of the extremist organization "Pure World Society" have made the label "people with special abilities = dangerous" deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.
In 2035, a girl in the "New Berlin Special Zone" was shot to death for refusing to register, igniting the fuse of resistance. The secret organization "Equal Rights Front" came to the stage and proposed the abolition of surveillance and the realization of equality. However, in the face of the government's violent suppression, divisions arose within the front: moderates insisted on peaceful protest, while radicals chose to respond to violence with violence, and some even advocated the establishment of a rule by people with special abilities.
Today, the world is divided: the government and the "Pure World Society" have joined forces to suppress it and define the Front as a terrorist organization; the Equal Rights Front controls part of the quarantine area and secretly receives support from Nordic countries; the neutralists try to mediate, but are struggling amid suspicion and confrontation. The suspicion between neighbors, the breakdown of families, and the separation of lovers make the rift between "normal" and "abnormal" deeper and deeper. Where will this revolution about survival and dignity ultimately go?
Purpose: Using the opposition between the disabled and the incompetent as a carrier, we explore the struggles of minority groups under systemic oppression and the struggles of humanity, reflect on how prejudice and fear tear society apart, and question the true meaning of equality and justice.
