"Code Cage" tells the story of top hacker Jiang Xu and anti-fraud policeman Lu Zheng. Jiang Xu once went into hiding because the program he programmed, "Cage," was abused and a reporter was killed. The code contained self-destruction instructions, leaving a hidden chance of survival. In order to find out the cause of death of his father (one of the murdered journalists), Lu Zheng persisted in tracing the criminal chain on the dark web.
The two men overlapped due to cases, and Jiang Xu proposed cooperation on the grounds of key evidence. During the investigation, they discovered that the "cage" was originally a tool of justice but had been tampered with by an insider. Jiang Xu used his own biological characteristics to set the ultimate lock on the program, and Lu Zheng's father left key clues before his death. In the end, they join forces to destroy the "cage", uncover the truth, and find a way to coexist in confrontation and trust.
