The story revolves around the two male protagonists Jiang Zhu and Qi Wan. Qi Wang, who is good at piano, suffered from PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) in his first year of high school. Jiang Zhu was a ray of light in Qi Wang's life. The two met on campus and met for the first time during the season when ginkgo leaves were flying. Jiang Zhu accompanies Qi Wan through the pain of high school illness with gentleness and patience. Their love takes root in mutual support, and eventually they transcend the secular world and enter into marriage. But Jiang Zhu didn't know that Qi Wang's condition was getting worse and worse. He knew that the better Jiang Zhu got, the deeper he would sink. He couldn't accept a slight mistake in his memories. He would only remember the past forever. Qi Wang is awake and confused. One year after their marriage, Qi Wang committed suicide at home on the day of frost, when the leaves were falling. Unable to escape from the abyss of delusion, Qi Wang chose to leave, leaving Jiang Yi alone. Jiang Zhu collapsed completely, and his former reason and sunshine were swallowed up by despair. In the end, he fell into madness, leaving only the lingering sadness under the ginkgo tree and the short-lived and broken warmth that the two had intertwined. Jiang Zhu died on the day of Beginning of Autumn. He didn't wait for the ginkgo leaves to fall. He took the ginkgo leaves from high school and went to find Qi Wan in advance.
