This book is a northwest folk tale, passed down orally from the older generation.
When I couldn't sleep at night when I was a child, I asked my grandma to tell us stories. Grandma called storytelling "telling stories about ancient and modern times." These stories were told by the older generation when grandma was a child. She always remembered telling them to my father and aunts, and then told them to our grandchildren.
