Crow
Zhu Yue once picked up a bird.
The wings were dark and smooth, reflecting colors in the moonlight. The bird was injured, black and red intertwined, very miserable.
When a person and a bird looked at each other, Zhu Yue couldn't bear it and secretly took the bird home.
She only knew some basic treatment, disinfecting and applying medicine to the bird. During this period, the bird was surprisingly quiet and did not utter a sound.
She kept it secretly like this.
Later, Uncle Li in the village discovered the secret. He said it was a crow, a symbol of ominousness. He also said:
"When a crow crows three times in the night, someone will surely die."
Zhu Yue didn't believe it, so she blocked the crow with her body, holding a fruit knife in both hands, staring at Uncle Li.
Uncle Li smiled and disappeared from Zhu Yue's sight.
Taking this opportunity, Zhu Yue hid the crow. She didn't want to let her only friend fly, so she could only apologize and hide it.
A week later, the villagers held high torches and surrounded Zhu Yue's house with water.
They shouted and asked Zhu Yue to kill the crow.
It was still moonlight, and the moonlight shone on the crow's spread wings, reflecting a layer of silver.
Zhu Yue walked out and said to the angry villagers, "Xiao Hei has flown away."
Then he slammed the door, covered his head and sat on the bed.
The angry scolding disappeared at one hour before noon, and she also fell asleep at one hour before noon.
Two days later, Uncle Li knocked on the door with a gift box. He said it was everyone's apology. It was their fault the day before yesterday. It was filled with everyone's thoughts, and he begged Zhu Yue to accept it.
It wasn't until the footsteps faded away that Zhu Yue took the gift box into the room. After clumsily opening it, there was a crow's body lying inside. It was her Xiao Hei, looking at her like when they first met.
That was the first time she heard Xiao Hei's cry. The crow cawing hoarsely three times, no more and no less.
Zhu Yue's cries were mixed with the ridicule and cheers of the villagers.
Later, the police received a report that all the villagers in Yuetang Village died mysteriously, and only a younger girl survived. The police immediately dispatched police, set up a special case-filing team, conducted on-site inspections, and took notes of survivors. However, there was no progress and the matter was finally dropped.
In order to appease Zhu Yue's mind, the government arranged accommodation, living expenses and school for her.
At one o'clock before noon, Zhu Yue turned on the computer, confirmed the message and went out.
"Let's go, Xiaohei."
