On a snowstorm night, wolves attacked Tsering's sheepfold.
Early the next morning, he found an abandoned wolf cub in the snow.
"Little thing, its eyes are as blue as a glacier lake." Tsering wrapped it in a leather robe.
He fed the wolf cub with goat's milk every day and named it "Duosen".
A year later, the grown-up Duosen led a pack of wolves to surround Tsering's sheep.
The wolves were pressing closer and closer, and Tsering stood in front of the sheep: "Duosen, go home."
After the wolves retreated, Tsering untied the copper bell from Duosen's neck at the snowy mountain pass.
"You belong to the wind and the mountains." He pointed into the distance, "Let's go."
Duosen disappeared on the ridge, and the rustling sound of prayer flags floated in the wind.
