In between the boring test questions and the sprint for her senior year of high school, Shen Ning, a science girl from a key middle school, suddenly received an old drifting bottle with the words "Where did the world come from?"
Every day that follows, anonymous "philosophical messengers" will deliver new philosophical thinking through drifting bottles or hidden corners of the campus: from Zhouzhuang Dream Butterfly to Socratic Questions, from existential nothingness to quantum entanglement.
Following the clues, she found the source of the messenger - Professor Gu, a lonely and strange old man who lived next to the school. After an unexpected collision, she broke into Professor Gu's "thought labyrinth" filled with philosophical symbols and books, and started a wonderful agreement called "Philosophical Drifting".
