A bloody romantic epic spanning thirty years, it tells the story of the love between Yafan, an educated youth who returned to the city, and Zheng Ruqing, the "crazy beauty", who was washed away by the torrent of the times from 1978 to 2010. Ruqing suffered a mental breakdown due to her resistance to the marriage arranged by her mother, the Queen Mother, and eventually withered; Yafan spent his life carving her mad words, blood letters and tears into a plaster statue of the "Crying Venus". In 2010, when a literature graduate student discovered this statue hidden in a flea market, Ruqing's singing voice on the tape came to life together with the chirping of cicadas in the 1980s - it turns out that true love is never afraid of being stamped as "mental illness" by history.
Purpose: How to achieve redemption through literature for love that has been stamped as "madness" by the times
