Introduction to the novel
This is a tragic romance story about two strong men on campus. From the moment they entered high school, the cold and arrogant academic tyrant Su Wan and the unruly genius Jiang Chi were destined to become the most dazzling and painful "rivals" in each other's lives. They repeatedly saw each other at the top of the report card, faced each other in competitions and activities, and wrapped up the secret throbbing deep in their hearts with pride and confrontation.
Su Wan is burdened by the pressure of reality and regards learning as the only way out; Jiang Chi seems to be glamorous, but he is also trapped in the shackles of the unknown. They are like two planets that attract and repel each other. In their confrontations, they glimpse the fragility of each other under the hard shell. However, due to their paranoid personalities and the obstacles of reality, they can never really get close. Misunderstandings grow like vines, turning heartbeats into resentment, and turning proximity into deeper harm.
From the overt and covert fights in the high school classroom, to the distance between each other after graduation, to the changes in things and people in the adult world, their stories run through their entire youth and even longer. Even though there was a brief period of warmth and heartbeat, it was eventually pushed by the torrent of fate into endless regrets - those unspoken feelings, unresolved misunderstandings, and unreturned farewells all turned into footnotes of tragedy. This is a miss from beginning to end, two strong men struggling on the edge of love and hate, leaving only a sad song full of scars and eternal regret.
