The protagonist Sang Nian's younger brother Sang Zhi was burned to death in a fire when he was a child, but he did not die. Instead, he shared a body with his brother Sang Nian. When he grew up, Sang Nian met his future colleagues Xu Leduo and Qi Jing during an interstellar agent assessment, and became friends with them. Together with Sang Nian, he joined the team of Sang Nian's childhood friend Song'e as interstellar agents. They formed a team called "Excuse Me" and began a life of accepting assigned tasks and investigating a series of incidents involving Agent X. But Sang Zhi was not satisfied with the relationship with his brother Sang Nian, and developed an almost pathological love for Sang Nian, so he expressed his feelings to Sang Nian, but Sang Nian rejected him. Later in the New Year, Agent X's identity was revealed. In order to protect Sang Nian and his team members, Sang Zhi voluntarily gave up his freedom.
