Synopsis
On the way home, my hometown has become a purgatory. The early wind blew up the dead leaves, and I trekked alone through the barren mountains, just to take a look at my dreaming home. The green leather train brings a bit of comfort, and a chance encounter with an old friend, A Qiang, adds warmth. However, when the car arrived at the small station, the scene in front of me was like falling into an ice cave - broken walls, scorched earth, and shocking dark brown stains! This is definitely not a natural disaster, it is a vicious place filled with ominousness and death! During the desperate escape, a Taoist priest with leggings reached out to help. Temporarily staying in a broken house on a cold night, just as the shock subsided, sudden changes occurred! On the edge of the bed, a ferocious ghost figure less than three feet tall was climbing up - gray rotten face, black eye sockets, and a fishy stench! Hold your breath! Silence! It is the "dwarf mule" seeking souls! The three of them sneaked out of the haunted house and escaped from the haunted house. The screams behind them were bone-piercing: "You can't escape!" They fled to the ruins and met the "savior" Taoist priest again who led him to the altar. The hope of life is close at hand! But because of a little Taoist priest's incredible act of "extinguishing the fire", the flames instantly engulfed the altar, and the solemnity turned into chaos! That action... Was it a mistake? Or deliberate arson? Amidst the blazing flames and smoke, an even more terrifying hunter arrives - an armored demon wearing rusty Japanese gear and holding a serrated wild sword in his hand! The bloody battle was fierce. Just when he was exhausted, the evil spirit mysteriously disappeared out of thin air. Before the smoke cleared, and still in shock, two identical young Taoist priests suddenly appeared and identified each other as evil spirits! Fear and suspicion instantly tore apart the remaining trust. How to tell the difference between life and death? Who is real? Who is fake? That weird smile revealed a fatal flaw... The morning light pierced the haze, the scorch marks were still there, and the evil spirit escaped. In the depths of the ruins, has the shadow that devoured life really dissipated? Concept: The disillusionment of home and the loneliness of existence: The desire to return home is in sharp contrast with the cruel reality that the hometown has turned into a horrific death zone, revealing the double destruction of the physical and spiritual home, and the profound loneliness and rootlessness caused by it. Struggle of human nature and crisis of trust in desperate situations: Under extreme terror and life and death pressure, human nature (such as survival instinct, suspicion, courage) is magnified. The emergence of true and false Taoist priests pushes "trust" to the brink of collapse, highlighting the difficulty of distinguishing authenticity amidst unknown fear. The embodiment and root metaphor of evil spirits: Evil spirits such as "dwarf mules" and Japanese armor monsters are not only supernatural horror elements, but their shapes (such as Japanese elements) and the behavior of creating ruins may be metaphors for deeper "evil" and "resentment" entrenched in the homeland, such as war, violence, and historical trauma. Confrontation between Taoism and law and the fragility of order: Taoist priests and altars represent the power of order against chaos and evil, but the easy destruction of the altar (whether by accident or conspiracy) symbolizes the fragility of this order in the face of powerful evil originating from the source.
