When Deng Yao stepped into the junior high school campus for the first time, she was so nervous that her palms sweated. She walked quickly with her head down, but tripped over the steps in her panic. A warm hand stretched out - it was Qin Kang. He smiled and pulled her up, and the sunlight reflected on his face, like a beam of light shining into her dark world.
They became tablemates. Qin Kang always took the initiative to find topics, and discovered that Deng Yao liked to draw in the corner of the textbook, while Deng Yao secretly noted that he loved drinking orange soda and hummed off-key songs during lunch breaks. She drew his profile in her diary, but never dared to say another word.
But fate did not give them more time. During a group activity, Qin Kang couldn't help but criticize Deng Yao because she was afraid that speaking would slow down the progress. She ran away with red eyes, and the two fell into a cold war. Later, Qin Kang picked up the painting book she dropped, and it was full of his figure. He wanted to apologize, but never got the chance - Deng Yao transferred to another school, leaving only an unfinished painting with "Thank you" written in the corner.
Many years later, when Qin Kang was sorting out old things, he turned to the picture album and found a note on the last page. The handwriting was immature but serious: "If I had been braver at that time, would the ending have been different?"
But there are no ifs in youth. For some people, once they miss it, it is forever.
Motto: "The most painful miss in youth will eventually be turned into the tenderest reunion by time."
