If I hadn't met Ayu, I wouldn't be where I am now.
Not many daughters in Dashan can go out and drop out of school to get married and have children. This is the norm. But because of Ayu's support, I became the first girl to pass the exam.
I was 12 years old and Ayu was 22 years old.
I thought people all wanted to go outside the mountains, but Ayu was different. He had obviously passed the entrance examination of Dashan, but he still wanted to come back to teach. I couldn't understand it at the time. I studied hard just to go out.
I don't want to marry early in exchange for a bride price for my brother, and I don't want to follow the same path as my mother and grandma. My father didn't want me to go to school anymore. I was so desperate that I would rather die than become a married woman. The sharp blade scratched the skin, and the warm liquid slowly flowed out. Ayu rescued me when I was about to die.
He cried and begged me to live well, and was even sadder than me. His sad eyes revealed hope and encouragement. He bent his little finger and wanted to hook me up.
"I swear, as long as you live well, I will definitely let you learn! Gold Hook, Silver Hook, lie to others like a puppy."
To me, Ayu is no longer a teacher, but more than an elder brother and a father. With his support, I was finally admitted to the university of my dreams. After working hard outside for five years, I relied on myself to gain a foothold in society. In the first six years, I relied on Ayu, and in the second half of my life, I relied on myself.
They say a mentor is like a father, but he passed away early because he failed to see that I was living a good life.
